Gym Workout: Hero Workout!

Workout: Martin Bell – In honor of British Army Pvt. Martin Simon George Bell from 2nd Battalion, Parachute Regiment, who was killed on Jan. 25, 2011, near the village of Spoor Kalay in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Bell was fatally wounded by an improvised explosive device as he was moving to assist a comrade who had been injured nearby.

For time, with a partner (or as a single person with half the work: 1000-m row, 50 body wt DL, etc.)

– 2,000-m Row (alternative: 200 cals on the bike)
– 100 Bodyweight deadlifts
– 50 Thrusters at 95 lbs (or at a moderate weight)
– 1,000-m Row (alternative: 100 cals on the bike)
– 100 Hand-release push-ups
– 50 Pull-ups (alternative: jumping pull-ups)
– 500-m Row (alternative: 50 cals on the bike)
– 100 Sit-ups
– 100 Wall-ball shots with a 20 lb ball (or at a weight moderately difficult to do 10-15 in a row)


At Home Workout

  1. Angie
    For time (as fast as possible)
    – 100 Pull-ups (alternative: jumping pull-ups)
    – 100 Push-ups
    – 100 Sit-ups
    – 100 Air squats
  2. Or alternatively: Angie numbers with the following:
    – 100 V-ups (alternative: hanging knee raises)
    – 100 Dips
    – 100 Lunges
    – 100 Burpees

Complete all reps of each exercise in the order written before moving to the next.
